Tendon Transfer Outcome in Radial Nerve Injury: Our Experience

Objective: The objective of the current study was evaluation outcome tendon transfers in high radial nerve palsy for restoration power and function wrist hand Karachi, Pakistan. Methodology: A descriptive case series with clinical data 17 patients analyzed at Department Orthopedics Surgery Dr. Ruth K.M. Pfau Civil Hospital Dow University Health Sciences Pakistan, from January 2018 to December 2021. Patients who were diagnosed low RNP registered. Those multiple injuries which might have caused considerable disability (polytrauma patients) or those suffering brachial plexus lesions excluded. Results: Out seventeen patients, 14 (85%) male while 03 (15%) femalewith mean age 29.5 years. There 65% right-sided injured patients. Mean Disabilities Arm, Shoulder Hand (DASH) scores 11.44 ± 3.35 94.1% minimal category whereas 5.88% moderately disable.Motor finger extension significantly improved between preoperative period three months post-operatively, pre-operative six months. Conclusion: Tendon treating positive functional outcomes terms extension, handgrip strength, as well patient satisfaction measured by Quick DASH ratings. help restoring nonfunctional dangling into powerful hand.
